With every large, worldwide event comes the internet memes almost immediately. The 2017 Grammy Awards is no exception.
Memes are the internet’s commentary on current events. Whether it’s a screenshot from a movie or that one time a celebrity looked funny in a photo, no one is safe from the internet meme.
TIME Magazine, Billboard, Vogue and a few other popular sites posted articles claiming to have found the most hilarious memes of the 2017 Grammys, so let’s see what the post-Grammys internet has gifted us with (in no particular order)…
JAMES CORDEN TAKES A TUMBLE
Ah yes, James Corden falling down the stairs. While I this is quite obviously a planned stunt, I think we can all relate to this clumsy presentation of humanity. 2016 wasn’t super swell for a lot of reasons, and 2017 doesn’t seem to be making much of anything better.
Even the most charmingly funny among us are not free of the internet meme phenomenon. Or apparently from falling (rolling) down the stairs on national television.
MIKE POSNER, IT’S NOT EASY BEING GREEN
Oh Mike, come one, what were you thinking? It is one thing to try out a new do for your Grammys red carpet walk, maybe some highlights? But when you take a green highlighter from your desk drawer to your luscious locks, the internet will take notice.
QUEEN BEY’S TRUST FALL
If you ever doubted that Beyonce could do anything and everything, here is your chance to be proven wrong. Not only is she #flawless and a pregnant beauty with the voice of an angel, but she can alter the laws of physics.
Perhaps this is why we need more women in STEM fields.
Last but not least, who could forget CeeLo Green’s Grammy wardrobe – the real winner of the internet.
This is the first time I feel like I have even seen the guy since “Forget You” was a thing. He sure did make a statement on Sunday in his gold plated body armor. It is like a cross between “Thing” from Fantastic 4 and Avatar: The Last Air bender with a dash of Dr. Evil from the Austin Powers movies. But you know what, I just feel like it’s a definite “you do you” moment. Props to him for taking the look and owning it all the way through.
