How social media responded to the Ohio-Oregon football championship

Even though Ohio State beat the Oregon Ducks in the NCAA football championship game, the real winner was social media, on Facebook and twitter. The two screen phenomenon proved its point (again) as audiences who watched the game on ESPN were in conversation with each other on social. According to Lost Remote, the “game garnered 4.4 million tweets over the entire ESPN broadcast, which includes an hour before kickoff and those ten minutes of celebration after the game. The top five moments on Facebook were Elliott’s touchdown run, the final whistle, that Mariota connect and when Ohio tied the game 7-7.”
