Successfully Embedding Social Media in Businesses

Today in Social Media Today, Robin Carey interviewed Sandy Carter, General Manager Ecosystem Development at IBM. Sandy gives a brief overview of the way Social Media has become embedded in every process of business, at least at IBM. Beginning with the Marketing department, it has spread to Sales, Supply Chain, and even HR. We have been discussing these themes in class, and it’s useful to see someone talking frankly about how it is successfully implemented across the organization.

Sandy is slated to speak later this year at the “Social Shakeup” conference, focused on how social media is shaking up how companies do business. The tracks looks very interesting, and reflect the wide variety of topics that Social Media encompasses. Here’s a snapshot to give you a flavor:
