Google Glass Improving Live Event Experience

During tonight’s highly anticipated NBA matchup between the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers, the two best teams in the Eastern Conference, Pacers Sports & Entertainment introduced Google Glass as a new element of the in-game experience. The wearable technology enables fans at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis to see first-person, real-time views from personalities around the arena, such as on-court performers and announcers.

In partnership with CrowdOption, a software platform that analyzes real-time Google Glass feeds and curates them by subject matter and quality, only high quality live footage is displayed on the arena’s gigantic scoreboard.  Such technology could give way to providing in-arena fans the option to control their own broadcast.
