We the People of the United States
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Thus the ‘Beginning’ of:
‘The Constitution of the United States of America’ – the supreme law of the United States. It provides the framework for the organization of the United States Government.
The Constitution was formed by the founding fathers in the year 1787, with the purpose of forming, a new and unified society. However, I’m sure, that they’d never factored in the future possibility of Internet and Social Media technologies that exist today.
So how is this new era of communication affect our nation’s population and government?
The United States government and it’s people has existed well over 200 years. But now this nation faces it’s most daunting challenge ever in maintaining a perfect Union.
‘So how does a society form and maintain a perfect Union?’
One Answer is:
‘Well, mainly through the process and methodology of communication.’
In the past, the ‘process and method’ of communication delivery occurred in a somewhat simple form. From the carrier pigeon, to the Pony Express, to the telephone, etc. People also met each other, face-to-face, to engage in conversations. Times were simpler back then.
But now, and in the last 10 years especially, the entire world of communications has dramatically changed.
Due to the new Digital realm, the Internet and Social Media platforms the complete framework of everyday communications has basically been altered and redesigned.
What’s fascinating about this transformation is that the majority of ‘messages’ associated with ‘everyday’ communications of today remain basically the same as it was 200 years ago! People still say, ‘Hello‘, people still say, ‘How are you?‘ and people say it still say, ‘Goodbye‘ to each other. What’s being said and heard is very simple and pretty much unchanged.
The difference now however is the absolute complex nature of how these messages are being sent and received.
Whether its using Twitter, facebook, Instagram, Google, etc. The sheer speed and volume of informational communication exchange today are changing people’s outlooks and relationships with each other, as well as with their Government.
These new complex communication interactions can and are generating high-magnitude ‘emotional wave‘ events among people that can sweep even national governments (i.e. Egypt, Libya, Ukraine …) from existence at frightening speed.
It’s a daunting challenge for existing and new forming governments around the world.
Back to – ‘We the People …..’
The Constitution of the United States of America. The framework for the ‘organization’ of the United States government.
But how will this concept and idea –
‘to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity,’
– survive in this new world of Social Media technologies and its allies?
Where do we go from here?
Is it plausible to maintain the main essence of a society amidst this massive technological information upheaval and change?
Will our government, as well as other world governments, be at the mercy of those who control, generate and manipulate this mega-data informational realm within (and outside) their nations?
Here’s my take at a possible solution:
If someone or some group manages to figure out how to INTEGRATE together the vast majority of Social Media platforms, the Internet and additional existing Digital realms into ONE conduit or channel where everyone can conveniently and seamlessly connect, communicate and understand each other without friction.
This could lead to a world where Nirvana (Cobain) is real! By the way, (if you’re not a Trekkie) such an ultimate single conduit or channel for communication would be called – the UNIVERSAL TRANSLATOR.
