Will 2013 be the year of “Social HR”?

Jeanne Meister for Forbes predicts that 2013 will “be the year of Social HR, with organizations integrating social technologies into the way they recruit, develop & engage employees.” Her prediction that resumes will disappear seems unlikely in one year’s time, though prospective employers will google your name, look at your Klout score and LinkedIn profile, etc. I think it is more likely that certain industries will take the lead on making use of online profile information. In any case, it is intimidating for employers and employees alike to keep track of all their many online identities and reputation associated with them. On the other hand, the prediction that many aspects of our work will become “gamified” sounds fun and intriguing. How is your company’s HR department going “social”?

    Our company culture fortunately is very social person to person. However, it would be interesting to be able to use social media for employee engagement.
